Nearly 19000 mpox cases found in Africa since January

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 4 arrested two alleged drug dealers including a woman along with 42,220 pieces of Yaba tablets from the city's Ashulia area on Friday (16 August), afternoon.

A team of the RAB-4 conducted a raid in Ashulia Police Station area under Dhaka district and arrested Mozzamel Haque Iqbal, 48, and Mortuza Akhter Ruma, 37, residents of Chittagong district.

During the raid, the contraband Yaba tablets, money and a mobile phone were seized from their possession.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons collected various drugs including Yaba tablets from different parts of the country and sold those in Savar, Dhamrai, Ashulia and other nearby areas of Dhaka district for a long time.

Necessary legal action has been taken against the arrested persons, the release added.
