The United States has called on Bangladesh and India to resolve their differences peacefully, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said today (11 December).

The statement came in response to a question from reporters about Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri recent visit to Bangladesh in the wake of the attack on the Bangladeshi diplomatic mission in India.

The reporter also asked for Miller's comment on India's "increasingly aggressive rhetoric" towards Bangladesh.

"We want to see all parties resolve their disagreements peacefully," Miller said in response. Vikram Misri is the first top Indian diplomat to visit Bangladesh since former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's ouster on (5 August).
