Minto Mall, located in Sydney, is organizing its first Ramadan Night festival on March 21-23 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). During this event, the entire parking lot of Minto Mall was filled with delicious local and national flavours of halal food shops and food trucks, from 6 pm to midnight. There were separate ablution and prayer facilities for Muslim men and women. Minto Mall also kindly distributed drinking water and dates during Iftar.
The New South Wales Member of the Legislative Assembly, Member for Macquarie Fields, Minister for Better Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, Minister for Corrections, as well as Member of the Australian Labor Party, The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong said, "Ramadan Night has provided a wonderful opportunity for people of all cultures to come together, as well as for the enrichment of Islamic traditions. He also believes that this initiative can be a great opportunity to attract local economies and tourism.”
Minto Mall owner Tony Murdocca thanked everyone for coming together with family and friends for the Ramadan Night and said, "The Ramadan Night organized for the Muslim community is a wonderful opportunity to learn about and celebrate Islam, as well as building bridges between many cultures and communities."
