Gaza`s civil defence agency said Thursday 22 people were killed in an Israeli strike on Gaza City, while medical sources reported dozens of deaths in another overnight air raid. "We can confirm that 22 martyrs were transferred (to hospital) after a strike targeted a house... in Sheikh Radwan" neighbourhood of Gaza City, civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal said.

A new draft deal was released at deadlocked UN climate talks on Thursday, offering competing options that show rich and developing nations remain far apart on the money needed to help poorer countries tackle global warming. The two options in the text released at COP29 in Azerbaijan recognise a need of a trillion dollars per year, but both left the exact amount blank, marked with an "X".

A Pakistani court granted bail Wednesday to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a graft case, his lawyer said. But with a slew of other charges pending against him, the opposition leader is staying in prison. Still, the order by a superior court in the capital, Islamabad, was a boost for Khan in the case in which he is accused, along with his wife, Bushra Bibi, of keeping and selling state gifts in violation of government rules when he was in power.
