5 Bangladeshis killed in UAE road accident

Five Bangladeshi youths were tragically killed in a road accident in the United Arab Emirates. The accident occurred around 10:30 am local time on Sunday (July 7). The Bangladesh Consulate Dubai and Northern Emirates Consul General BM Jamal Hossain confirmed the incident.

The deceased Bangladeshis are Mohammad Rana (30), son of Lutfar Rahman of Balenga village in Nawabganj, Mohammad Rashed (32), son of Abdul Hakim, Mohammad Raju (24), son of Sheikh Irshad, Ibadul Islam (34), son of Sheikh Ibrahim, and Hira Mia (22), son of Mohammad Manju, Dohar Bazar area. All the deceased expatriates worked at the same place.

The five deceased Bangladeshis lived in Ajman province. It is known that they were residents of Dhaka's Nawabganj and Dohar police station areas.

Zillur Rahman, president of the Bangladesh Business Council Ajman, stated that the five expatriates were traveling to Abu Dhabi for work when their vehicle met with an accident in the Sahama area of Abu Dhabi. All five died on the spot. Among them, four were from Balenga village in Nawabganj's Jaykrishnapur union, and one was from Dohar Bazar area in Dohar upazila.

The Bangladesh Consulate in Dubai and Northern Emirates expressed deep sorrow over this tragic accident. The death of these five young expatriates has cast a shadow of grief among the expatriate Bangladeshi community.
