 A dialogue held with youth representatives in China

With the theme of "contribute youthful strength and build a better world together," the "2024 International Friendship Cities Young Leader's Dialogue with Jiangxi" event was held in China with the Bangladeshi delegation's participation at the local government's invitation.

On 19 August, the day-long dialogue was held in Nanchang, the capital of China's Jiangxi Province. Fan Yong, Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, presided over the opening ceremony. This dialogue is hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and jointly organized by the Jiangxi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Jiangxi Youth Federation, and the Jiangxi China Vocational Education Society.

Shen Xin, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Shi Ke, Vice Governor of the Jiangxi Provincial Government; and Mehdi Nadi, First Vice Chairman of the Iran-China Friendship Association, among other guests, spoke at the opening ceremony.

Shi Ke warmly welcomed the Chinese and foreign young representatives attending the conference and briefly introduced the Jiangxi Province. He hopes to take this event as an opportunity to enable young friends to grow into cultural ambassadors and promoters of future multi-faceted cooperation to promote friendly exchanges between Jiangxi and international sister cities to enable young friends to enhance understanding in cultural exchanges, reach consensus in the collision of ideas, and establish friendship in spiritual dialogues, so as to work together and grow side by side for the common goal of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Shen Xin said that peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom are the common values and pursuits of all mankind. He hopes that young friends will set up the ambition to revitalize the country, benefit the world, and contribute their youthful strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind. He further hopes that young friends will lead in implementing global development, global security, and global civilization initiatives and contribute their youthful responsibility to enhancing the common well-being of all mankind. He said young friends will actively promote equal dialogue and mutual learning among different countries, nationalities, and cultures and contribute their youthful wisdom to promote mutual understanding among world peoples.

During the forum, three sub-forums were held at the same time, where the young representatives exchanged and discussed topics, focused on the theme of the conference, and elaborated on their understanding and grasp of new technologies promoting economic leapfrogging, industrial optimization, upgrading, and overall productivity leap from three perspectives: "Youth Perspective: Artificial Intelligence and World Economic Development", "Youth Practice: Vocational Education and Craft Inheritance and Innovation", and "Youth Dream: Cultural Exchange and People-to-People Communication". They shared their experience stories and development plans of young people realizing their life values through vocational education and helping intangible cultural heritage to create greater glory. They also put forward ideas and opinions on finding opportunities for cultural exchanges and carrying out international projects.

After the dialogue, the foreign young delegates went to Jiujiang, Jingdezhen, Ji'an, and Ganzhou to visit the economic development, scientific and technological innovation, rural revitalization, environmental protection, and other projects of Jiangxi Province to gain practical experience. Over 200 youth representatives from 22 countries, including Bangladesh, Iran, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, Russia, France, Hungary, Germany, UK, USA, Mexico, Argentina, and Madagascar participated in this dialogue.
