On Friday (October 25) evening, the Australia Bangladesh Business Forum organized a Business Networking Night at Reges Hotel, Campbelltown, Sydney. New South Wales. Minister for Fair Trading, Industry and Commerce, Innovation, Science and Technology, Anoulack Chanthivong Minister for Corrections of New South Wales MP was present as the chief guest at this night.
At the beginning of the program, after the national anthems of Australia and Bangladesh, tributes were paid to the indigenous people of Australia. The founding president of the forum, Abdul Khan Ratan, welcomed the guests in his welcome speech and announced the new date of Australia Bangladesh Business Expo Sydney Australia 2025 on October 2 and 3 next year. He called on the federal and state governments and the business community to increase Australia's trade relations with Bangladesh.
A video on the previous day's proceedings of the forum is then shown. Speaking as the chief guest moderated by Brian Lal, General Secretary of the Forum, Industry and Commerce Minister Anoulack Chanthivong expressed strong optimism in bringing together the businessmen and entrepreneurs of both Bangladesh and Australia to build strong economic ties, explore new business opportunities and promised full cooperation from his government.
Miss Annie Suttonley Federal MP, Nathan Haggerty State MP, Greg Warren State MP, Campbell Town City Council Mayor Darcy Lound, Commonwealth Bank Macarthur Area Manager Matt Sisian spoke as special guests.
Members of the Executive and Advisory Council of Australia Bangladesh Business Forum greeted the guests with bouquets of flowers. In their speech, the guests expressed their conviction that the Australia Bangladesh Business Forum will play an important role in expanding trade and investment between Bangladesh and Australia.
Commonwealth Bank branch manager Mohammad Shariful Islam Chowdhury, Priya Kataria, Saiful Islam and Ashraf Dowla took part in the discussion on what to do with the overall support of local businessmen.
Australian Business Champion for Brunei and former CEO of Ghanim Dr. Noor Rahman discussed international trade and investment. The discussion highlighted the huge potential for growth and the importance of mutually enhancing trade missions, business delegations and related markets.
The main attraction of the program was the panel discussion. Business experts from Australia and Bangladesh participated in this panel discussion. Among them were Rolf Fuchs, Antonila Yanni, Hemi Hossain, Dr Ayaz Chowdhury and Hossain Kabir. In their discussions, the experts discussed the current economic development of Bangladesh along with the development of bilateral trade relations between the two countries. Besides, one of the main topics discussed in this discussion was to expand the scope on increasing trade and investment opportunities in sectors like textiles, agriculture, technology, education and renewable energy.
Experts also expressed that the Australia Bangladesh Business Forum is playing a key role in creating a favourable environment for increasing the cooperation of local businessmen as well as sharing valuable experiences and developing new innovative strategies to strengthen economic partnership.
Finally, the business networking night organized by Australia Bangladesh Business Forum was announced by thanking the invited guests.
