On November 15 (Friday) evening at Macarthur in Sydney, leaders from different communities of residence signed a joint statement following the launch of the Australian Subcontinental Inclusive Network (ASIN).
After long field discussions and research, Rainbow Crossing Inc. has embarked on a single vision, unity and conviction of mutual trust, building bridges of support for the larger community with expatriates from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and several other major countries.
According to Ashin's committee signing the joint statement, their objectives and consensus include: representation in the implementation of inclusive policies; promotion of mental health; support to organizations dedicated to health and well-being to prevent domestic violence; empowerment and promotion of subcontinent-owned businesses; cultural awareness and education promotion; inspiring youth engagement and empowerment; fostering intercultural dialogue and solidarity; appropriately recognizing and celebrating community achievements.
The new members of Ashin's committee are Abdul Khan Ratan, Abu Abdullah, Vikram Kharel, Brian Lal, Hari Adhikari, Mark Silva, Moses Vidamuthu, Shafqat Ali, Stanley Abnes and Sudip Dhakal.
