We grew up hearing the names of Palestine's independence and Yasser Arafat, Israel's attack on Palestine, Gaza, the West Bank, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem. These names were memorised by our generation without any reason. Over time, we are introduced to attacks and bloody corpses. That body row has only grown over the decades. Bloody Palestine has not been freed.
I attended a protest rally in London last week. Abal, an old woman, and people from different countries of the world gathered there, demanding independent Palestine. Jews gathered there to protest the genocide. Around his neck was a placard that read, "Jews do not support genocide".
In many countries of the world, especially in America and Britain, university students have started a protest movement in favour of independent Palestine. Many students are getting arrested there.
But is the liberation of Palestine possible? 143 UN member states have already recognised Palestine as a state. Influential countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States, have not yet recognised Palestine.
On the other hand, while 164 states recognise Israel as an independent state, 28 states (mainly Muslim) still do not recognise Israel's sovereignty and have no diplomatic relations with it. However, Israel has signed a peace treaty with the two closest Arab neighbours, Egypt and Jordan, and has recognised the two countries. Many countries in the world have recognised both countries, so where is the barrier to an independent Palestine?
I have been researching Israel and Palestine online for a long time. We have been listening to the statements of the Palestinian side for many years, so our emotions towards Palestine are heavy, and even more so for religious reasons. Because the third place after Mecca and Medina is occupied by Al-Aqsa Mosque, the holiest mosque of Muslims located in the city of Jerusalem, Al Aqsa is called the first Qibla of the Muslim nation. But why is Israel maintaining its occupation there, What is the logic or mystery of that claim?
The Jews consider it the holy land as the holy land inhabited by their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Ibrahim, Ishaq and Yaqub a.) and, from that consideration, claim this land as the promised land for them to live. Christians consider it sacred as the birthplace of their religion's prophet, Jesus Christ (Isa A.). On the other hand, Muslims regard Palestine as the holy land of honour, the birthplace and workplace of various prophets and the memory of the Prophet's (PBUH) journey to Miraj. Although considered sacred by all, the amount of bloodshed in this holy land is not less. Since the dawn of civilisation, this holy land has been subjected to the aggression of various occupying imperial powers at various times. As the indigenous people of Palestine, the Jews are seeking to establish their rights in their land. They claim that no one inhabits this land more ancient than them. As the original inhabitants of this land, they have the right to return here. Regarding the local Arab population, they claim that the Arab population arrived in Palestine long after the birth of Christ under the Muslim caliphate. Given history, they have no chance to deny that claim. Because four thousand years of history testify to the existence and recognition of the Jewish race in human civilisation and historical continuity. Six thousand Jews were killed between November 1947 and January 1949.
The Jews thought that if they had lost that war, the Arabs would have wiped them out.
Israelis think that in 1947, the United Nations recognised the two countries in that way, if the Palestinians had accepted it, then the two countries named Palestine and Israel would have lived side by side peacefully. Therefore, according to their commentary, this war is actually a war for Israel to maintain its existence.
If you calculate the ancient history, this war in Palestine will last thousands of years. If we count from the period of the present state of Israel after World War II, its history is parallel to that of India. How India was divided on the basis of religion. India and Pakistan. Israel was born at exactly the same time. We also have many wars and a bloody history of independence for Bangladesh through India and Pakistan. The Indo-Pakistani war is still raging now and then. But there is no logical solution to the Israeli-Palestinian war? This war will continue for years.
On November 29, 1947, according to the United Nations Resolution No. 181, it was announced that a Jewish and an Arab state would be established in Palestine. According to the proposal, on May 14, 1948, at the end of the British Mandate, the Jewish state of Israel was formed with 56 percent of the land of Palestine. Previously, they drove the Arab inhabitants of the occupied lands from their homes and settled them with foreign Jews. According to the proposal, the Arabs of Palestine own 44 percent of the land, but they are fighting against the newly formed Israel for the demand of an integral Palestine. However, Israel defeated the Arabs in the war and occupied more than 80 percent of Palestine.
Seven hundred thousand Arab Palestinians were uprooted from their homes and became refugees in this catastrophe on Palestinian land. They are forced to take refuge in refugee camps in the Palestinian territories and neighbouring countries. This catastrophic event in Palestinian national history is known as Al-Nakba.
It is hard to believe that this idea of a single Palestine will work in any way against the mighty Israel. I don't know what the future will bear.
Is the Oslo Agreement the solution to this crisis?
Issues that Israel and Palestine cannot agree on
These include what will happen to Palestinian refugees; Jewish settlements in the West Bank would remain, or be removed; Will the city of Jerusalem be divided between the two; And the most complicated issue is the question of forming an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.
For the last 25 years, peace talks have been going on intermittently. But no solution to the conflict has been found yet.
The Oslo Accords created an interim government called the Palestinian Authority; which can establish autonomy in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Because of this agreement, the PLO will be considered a recognised permanent ally of Israel; As a result, the door is opened to discuss the controversial questions. The most important questions were the delimitation of the borders between Israel and Palestine, the settlement process of Israelis, the status of Jerusalem, the presence of Israeli troops and what to do with the areas controlled by the military after recognising Palestinian autonomy and discussing the right of return of Palestinians, the Oslo Accords and the creation of a Palestinian state. Nothing was said.
Instead of two independent states, the treaty called for a solution of a single state. As a result, all the territories of Israel and Palestine will be called one state and have one government. As a result, no party can claim all the land as its own. Which is basically a nightmare or an illusion. There is no chance for Israel and Palestine to become a single state.
Therefore, Palestine must return to the idea of an integral Palestine. The solution must be found in two separate state concepts. Returning all territories occupied by Israel after 1948 to Palestine, above all, both countries must withdraw from the sole right to Jerusalem. Either may be under the previously declared UN. Because this war is stuck in Jerusalem. Palestine and Israel should be looked to for solutions, not America or the Arab world. Before that, Hamas-controlled Gaza and the West Bank of Palestine, or the original Palestine, must return to a single regime.
On that day, a senior friend said that the country is just an idea, the whole world is actually people. That way, religion is just an idea. The world today is divided by the battle of countries and religions. A mechanism for leaders to govern people is called a state. And again and again, in the name of war, the world is bloody, common people die. Charlie Chaplin's famous words about this patriotism fit in there. When asked about Charlie not taking American citizenship, he said, citizenship is not a necessary condition to stay in a country. And Charlie Sarabe condemns patriotism. Charlie thinks that patriotism increases the differences between people, this patriotism is one of the reasons for hatred towards other people.
Charlie's autobiography mentions in the American newspapers, the administration of the government has been greatly infiltrated by the Nazis.
They have become the controllers of American political and social activities. When Charlie repeatedly pleads, if the Soviets fall in this great war and Hitler wins, it will be terrible for all human civilization. So the imperative duty of the moment is to stand in support of the Soviets against the Nazi forces. It is Charlie's comment that the American authorities, newspapers started attacking Charlie's patriotism, citizenship question.
Because his movie Monsieur Verdour's famous statement was that if a person kills two people, the state and society will hang him as a murderer, but if he kills thousands of people in a war, the state and society will honour him as a hero. The number of murders is the decisive judge, number is the matter.? He further fueled that idea.
Charlie was steadfast in his beliefs. He made no attempt to present himself as a great patriot. He made no attempt to take American citizenship. The family secretly moved from America to England. From there to Switzerland. Lived in Switzerland forever without becoming a citizen of any country. Loved all the people of the world in his films, in real life, always against patriotism.
Let the holi game of hundred years of blood be stopped. Ordinary people, women, children, and the elderly are more affected by war than warriors. For a beautiful world without war, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is as important as the end of this war.
