BNP and its associate bodies have called a 48-hour nationwide blockade starting from Sunday demanding the stepping down of the government, neutral government during election time and release of BNP leaders.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the program on Thursday (9 November) evening.
Previously, BNP observed a day-long hartal on October 29 following the violence centering BNP's rally on October 28 that left a policeman dead.
Later on, BNP enforced a 72-hour blockade starting from October 31 and a 48-hour blockade starting November 8.
