Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday (22 November) said the main objective of the Awami League is to prevent sabotage and propaganda leading up to the 12th parliamentary election scheduled to be held on January 7.
The AL general secretary also warned that any attempt to question the integrity involving the election would not be successful.
Quader made the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting of the sub-committees dealing with Awami League election at Dhaka district Awami League office at Tejgaon in the afternoon.
When asked about these recent developments, Quader, also the roads and bridges minister, said: "The election is nearing. And some flowers have already started to bloom."
"Hundreds of flowers will bloom until the nomination papers are officially submitted to the Election Commission. So, there's no reason to worry about it."
The Awami League general secretary said the party's election manifesto has already been finalised.
The meeting was presided over by Kazi Zafarullah, co-chairman of Awami League's Election Management Committee.
