BNP on Sunday (24 December) has announced a three-day long nationwide programme starting from Tuesday (26 December) which will run till Thursday (28 December) calling all voters to boycott the national election.
BNP will distribute leaflets and observe mass gatherings to discourage voters from voting. The programmes will be held countrywide. Party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at a virtual press briefing on Sunday afternoon.
Sources reported that Jamaat-e-islami and other BNP allies will observe the mass contact and distribution of leaflets programme simultaneously across the country during these three day period.
Rizvi on Sunday said more than 215 leaders and activists of the party were arrested, seven cases were filed and over 645 leaders and activists were accused in different cases.
“The government is going to hold a dummy election in the country. It has already decided that who will win in the election,” he said.
