Simeen Hussain Rimi, daughter of Banga Taj Tajuddin Ahmad, expressed that those who keep a distance from the public are generally not positively embraced by the people.
“I believe individuals who maintain a distance from the public are not well-received and may be viewed unfavorably. People inherently value unity and peaceful engagement. The actions taken by BNP seem to be adversely affecting the country, positioning the party as detached from the broader concerns and sentiments of the populace,” said Simeen Hussain, the current member of parliament from Gazipur-4, while responding to the media questions on Saturday (30 December).
Simeen Hussain was talking to the media after several street rally in various wards of Kapasia upazila in Gazipur district.
Simeen Hussain has been running the 12th national polls as an Awami League candidate from her constituency with the boat symbol.
In her address, Simeen Hussain highlighted numerous accomplishments in the socio-economic and infrastructure sectors within Kapasia during her 15-year tenure as a lawmaker. When explaining why she seeks re-election for the fourth time, Simeen eloquently articulated her close engagement with the people of Kapasia to address various challenges related to health, livelihood, infrastructure and education. She emphasised her commitment to achieving broader social and economic objectives.
Notably, Kapasia has received the esteemed recognition of being a maternal death-free model, conferred by the UNFPA, attributing this achievement to her efforts. Simeen Hussain also mentioned her proposal to the government for the establishment of an agriculture-based special economic zone in Kapasia, leveraging its green nature. This proposal is currently in the process of consideration and implementation.
Earlier on Saturday, she joined the street rally at Raynanda village.
Simeen Hussain emphasised the imperative of simultaneous socio-economic development and infrastructure advancement to propel Bangladesh towards becoming a smart nation. During a street rally at Raynanda village on Saturday, she expressed her dedication to serving the people through politics, considering it a sacred duty akin to religion. Simeen Hussain stated, "I have earnestly endeavored to serve the people with utmost honesty. Today, Kapasia stands as the sole upazila in the country with zero maternal mortality."
Addressing another street rally at Barjana Government Primary School, she shared her affection for children, stating her aspiration to create a secure and smart nation for them.
