Law enforcement officials have conducted an operation at the building of former state minister for power Nasrul Hamid in the capital’s Banani.
Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Gulshan Division) Reazul Haque confirmed that the operation resulted in the recovery of "cash and foreign currency totalling Tk1 crore." The authorities also found "a weapon and 50 rounds of ammunition
The raid began at midnight today (21 August) and continued until 2pm.
The building had been surrounded by army, police, and RAB members before the operation started.
Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud, two coordinators from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and Nurul Haq Nur, president of the Gana Adhikar Parishad, were present at the scene during the early stages of the operation.
