Awami League on Sunday issued some instructions to its leaders and workers urging them to earn public trust and not to be misled by any provocative social media post.

The first step is to stand by the grassroots. Contact Awami League official email [ [email protected] ] for information, it said in its verified Facebook post.

It also asked the leaders and activists not to fall into any kind of provocation or incitement trap through social media.

“Publish pictures and videos of attacks, vandalism, looting and murders on Twitter [X], Facebook, YouTube from the end of July to the beginning of August across the country,” the post said.

The people of the country should be told what torture has been done on the Awami League in the last one and a half months, it added. The AL in the post put emphasis on gaining people's trust.

“We need to earn people's trust, don't be misled by any kind of provocative posts or fake messages,” it said.

The political party had ruled the country for 15 years until a student-led upsurge ousted it from power on August 5.

It asked the leaders and workers to inform the people of the attacks on the offices of Awami League and its associate organisations in every metropolis, district, subdistrict, union and ward and the damages caused by the vandalism.

“We will also demand from those who are currently running the country to put the culprits under trial.... and the victims be compensated," urged the party in the post.
