Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Friday dismissed it’s one of the unit leader in Chattogram following the controversy over the case filed against 19 officials of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) including Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari of the organisation on charges of disrespecting Bangladesh’s national flag.
Chandgoan Thana unit BNP issued a letter of dismissal to Md Firoz Khan, general secretary of ward no. 5 Mohra unit BNP, on Friday afternoon, said Md Idris Ali, spokesperson of Chattogram city unit BNP.
“Md Firoz Khan was dismissed from his post for his involvement with anti-organizational activities,” Idris Ali said.
Md Firoz Khan on October 31 filed a case with Kotwali police station against 19 ISKCON officials including Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari of the organisation on charges of disrespecting Bangladesh's national flag in Chattogram's New Market area on October 25 during a mass rally to press for eight specific demands.
Md Firoz Khan could not be reached for his comment over the issue as his mobile phone was found switched off.
