Mirza Fakhrul collapses after paying tribute at National Martyrs’ Memorial

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir fell sick this morning (16 December) after paying tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar.

Fakhrul fell sick and collapsed to the ground while talking to reporters at the memorial grounds at around 10am, according to BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

Fakhrul was then rushed to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Savar for treatment, added Sayrul. According to the latest updates, Sayrul said Fakhrul's condition has improved significantly at the hospital.

He further mentioned that BNP Standing Committee members Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Salahuddin Ahmed, and BNP leader Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel have accompanied Fakhrul to the hospital.
