The Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated, "We aspire to build a new and prosperous nation. To achieve this, the cooperation of everyone is essential. Through collective efforts, it is possible to build a new Bangladesh."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a Street Rally held on Thursday (December 26) at 10 AM at the Gadaipur Football Ground in Paikgacha Upzila, Khulna. The event was organized by the Paikgacha Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further stated, "From time immemorial, our country has been one of harmony and coexistence. People of different religions have lived together peacefully here. Such nations are rare in the world. Unfortunately, those who governed this country continuously for 15 and a half years have prioritized their personal interests over the nation’s welfare. Instead of empowering the people, they have exploited the nation’s resources. The burden of unemployment has crushed the people, and the previous governments are to blame for this."
He added, "Sheikh Hasina tried to ban Jamaat-Shibir, but now she herself is sidelined. Over the past 17 years, the Awami League government has been responsible for oppression, killings, state terrorism, suppression of freedom of speech, press freedom, and denial of citizens' rights. However, the student-led mass uprising of July has allowed people to regain a renewed sense of freedom. This freedom, brought by our new generation, must be preserved at all costs, and everyone must unite to prevent its destruction."
The event was also attended by Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Central Organizational Secretary and Khulna Region Director Muhaddis Abdul Khaleque, former Central Executive Council member and ex-MP Principal Shah Muhammad Ruhul Quddus. The Street Rally was chaired by Paikgacha Upzila Jamaat Ameer Mawlana Saidur Rahman.
Central working committee member and Khulna Region Assistant Director Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Khulna District Ameer Maulana Emran Hossain, Secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, Satkhira District Ameer Maulana Shahidul Islam Mukul, Maulana Golam Sarwar, Shibir leader Abu Zar Gifari, Advocate Liaqat Ali Sardar, Maulana Aminul Islam, Maulana Kamal Hossain, Kazi Tamjeed Alam, Professor Abdul Momin Sana, Advocate Abdul Majid, Maulana Bulbul Ahmed, Maulana Abdul Khaleque, Maulana Abdul Sabur, Professor Abdur Rahim, Maulana Ruhul Amin, Maulana Abdul Majid Sardar, Dr. Asadul Haque, and Noor Alam Siddique, among others, were present.
