With the CEOs' return, the four-day saga of OpenAI comes full circle.
According to Reuters, OpenAI announced on Wednesday (22 November) that it had achieved an agreement for Sam Altman to return as CEO, with a new inaugural board comprising Bret Taylor, Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo.
"I am looking forward to returning to OpenAI," Sam Altman said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
On Monday (20 November), OpenAI designated ex-Twitch CEO Emmett Shear as interim CEO, while outgoing CEO Sam Altman joined supporter Microsoft.
This move signals the potential end of a four day dramatic saga that began with the OpenAI CEOs Sam Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman's sudden firing on the 18 of November.
Following the move protests and resignations erupted at OpenAI, followed by rumors of a lawsuit against the board.
