In response to the recent devastating floods, Bangladesh's leading 4.5G and mobile network service provider, Robi Axiata Limited has stepped forward to support the affected communities.
To aid thousands of families stranded by floodwaters, Robi, with the assistance of volunteer organizations, is set to deliver 10,000 relief packages to Khagrachhari, Noakhali, and Feni, with over 3,000 packages already distributed. Despite the challenges posed by strong water currents, Robi has successfully relocated around 500 people to safety from Feni with the support of the armed forces.
Thanks to the relentless efforts of network teams and the comprehensive support from the Bangladesh Armed Forces, almost all of Robi's network towers in Feni have been restored. To ensure continuous communication for flood victims, Robi is providing free talk-time and internet services. Additionally, 5,000 SIM cards, each loaded with 200 minutes of free talk-time and 5GB of data, are being distributed to volunteers. Around 75,000 retailers are also receiving free talk-time and internet services.
Robi's healthcare app, courtesy of Health Plus, Robi customers in flood-affected areas can access free medical consultations by calling 284778 at any time. Moreover, Robi is offering free SIM replacement services to customers in these regions.
Robi’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shihab Ahmad said: "As a socially responsible organization, Robi is committed to standing by the people in times of national crises. In line with our brand slogan ‘Parbe Tumio' we believe that through collective support, we can successfully overcome this disaster.”
