Denis Guittet’s presence enlightens 5th  BPO summit

The 'Fifth Bangladesh BPO Summit' has concluded with over half a million participants from across the country, showing the way to smart employment in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.

The two-day summit ended recently. Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury The Speaker of the National Parliament inaugurated the BPO Summit 2023 organised at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital on July 22. The theme of this year's summit was Sourcing Beyond Borders.

This year's BPO Summit was attended by French citizen Denis Guittet, CEO of the Global BPO Alliance (GBA). GBA is the world's first global BPO call centre alliance, comprising independent companies and local professionals from around the world. The company has been operating worldwide since 1992.

On July 21 (Friday) afternoon, GBA CEO Denis Guittet visited the Karwan Bazar office of his Bangladeshi business partner FIFOTech after landing at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport. The next day, he attended the BPO Summit 2023 at the Intercontinental in Dhaka. GBA's CEO Dennis Guittet's participation added a new dimension to the BPO Summit.

Denis Guittet, CEO of GBA, expressed optimism that Bangladesh's BPO industry will go a long way. He feels that BPO organisations in Bangladesh have the ability to work globally. In the event, the organising BPO organisations expressed their determination to find new markets in this sector, including business outsourcing across the borders of the country from different parts of the country, and provide the best technical services.

The representative of the European Union, H.E. Charles Whiteley, was also present among the foreigners, along with Shrimali Jayarathana, Secretary of the Commercial Wing of the Sri Lankan High Commission. According to BACCO General Secretary and CEO of FIFOTech, Towhid Hossain, a total of 16 departmental-level seminars were held across the country, including nine in Dhaka on the occasion of the National Conference.

Workshops were also held for the youth at 30 educational institutions. Also, a total of more than 8,000 CVs have been submitted at the BPO Summit, which started last May. About 60 lakh netizens participated in this summit through social media. About 45,000 workers have directly participated in this two-day conference.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present as the chief guest at the two-day BPO Summit. The event was presided over by ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, MP. BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder and Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, along with leaders of BPO organisations, were also present.
