Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis put Bangladesh into bat first after winning the toss in the second ODI on Friday (15 March) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
After suffering a six-wicket defeat in the first match, Sri Lanka are aiming to level the series.
The visitors however brought up one change to the side from the first game with left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage replacing offspinner Maheesh Thikshana.
Bangladesh, which won the first game, thanks to a brilliant 122 not out of captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, are keen to seal the series with a game to spare. A series victory however would give Bangladesh its second successive ODI series victory against Sri Lanka.
The hosts remained unchanged from the first game as it was expected.
Sri Lanka earlier won the three-match T20 series between the two sides by 2-1.
