The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the team of match officials who will oversee the highly anticipated ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the United States and West Indies from June 1st to 29th.

The umpires’ panel includes Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, who has recently been included in the Elite Panel as the first Bangladeshi.

The panel comprises 20 seasoned umpires and 6 experienced match referees, entrusted with ensuring fair play and upholding the highest standards of officiating throughout the tournament.

Among the notable names are Richard Illingworth, recipient of the prestigious David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year in 2023, and the trio of Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, and Paul Reiffel, who officiated the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup.

The tournament also marks an exciting debut for five umpires: Jayaraman Madanagopal, Sam Nogajski, Allahudien Paleker, Rashid Riaz, and Asif Yaqoob. Their inclusion reflects the ICC's commitment to nurturing and promoting talented officials from around the world.

The match referees' panel features familiar faces, including Ranjan Madugalle, who oversaw the 2022 final, and Jeff Crowe, the format's most capped referee with an impressive 175 T20Is under his belt. Andrew Pycroft is also nearing a significant milestone, just one match away from officiating his 150th T20I.

Wasim Khan, ICC General Manager – Cricket, expressed confidence in the selected officials.

“We are pleased to announce our team of match referees and umpires for the historic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup... We are confident that our officials will perform strongly,” he said.
