Bangladesh in Semifinals of Mas-Wrestling Ethnosport in Russia

The 8th Children of Asia 2024 International Sports Games is being held in the Sakha Republic (Yakutsk), Russia. 2,700 athletes from 24 countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in 24 sports events, including Mas-Wrestling ethnosport.

Under the leadership of Md Al Mamun, Founder & General Secretary of the International Ethnosport Bangladesh Association and the Country Representative of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, Russia, Zarif Ferdous in the Mas-Wrestling Ethnosport 80+ kg weight event and Sanwar Khondkar Junaid in the 70 kg weight event advanced to the semifinals on Saturday (29 June).

The Games were inaugurated with a grand ceremony on June 26, attended by the head of Russia's Sakha Republic (Yakutsk) province and ministers from various Asian countries, including the Minister of Sports of Russia. The competition will continue until July 6 and conclude on July 7. Organized by the Children of Asia International Committee in cooperation with the Government of Russia, the Russian Olympic Committee and the Sakha Republic (Yakutsk), the event is a significant international multi-sport competition for young athletes.
