Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman passed away. He died after falling sick during the chess national championship on Friday (05 July).
Recognizing a cardiac attack he fled to the Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital for treatment, the press reported.
He started his chess career inspired by his father. His son also followed in his footsteps to begin a chess career.
Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman was in a good position against another grandmaster Enamul Hossain Rajeev in the game. Suddenly, two chess players Shakil and Naim rushed to the chess federation room and said, “Jia Bhai has lost his head.”
