Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja put up more than 100 runs in the seventh wicket partnership for India in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.

India lost six wickets inside the Tea of day one, with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting a fifty.

Bangladesh were in control in both the first two sessions of the day with Hasan Mahmud taking four wickets, and Nahid Rana and Mehidy Hasan Miraz joining the party with one wicket each.

When Bangladesh were hoping to wrap up India quickly, Ashwin and Jadeja stood tall and helped India past the 250-run mark.

Bangladesh won the toss in this match and decided to bowl first, a decision that surprised many as it was the first time such a move had been made since 1982.

But Bangladesh managed to use the wicket well in the first hour when Hasan took three wickets of India’s top-order. He got early movements that earned him three quick wickets. In the second session, Hasan took another wicket.

At the end of the 63rd over, India were batting at 256 for six, with Ashwin and Jadeja not out for 64 and 43, respectively.
