The Bangladesh tennis team will leave here for Bahrain on November 18 to take part in the '2024 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-5' tennis tournament scheduled to be held from November 18-24 in IsaTown.
Apart from host Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Macau, Maldives,Mongolia, Yemen, Nepal, Tajikistan, Guam, Turkmenistan, Northern Marina Island and Philippines Davis Cup teams will participate in the competition which will he held under the sanction of International Tennis Federation and under the management of Bahrain Tennis Federation.
Initially all the participating teams, split into four groups, will play the group phase matches on the basis of round robin league. Later, the two champions teams will be promoted to Group-4 and both the teams will compete in the 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania region group-4.
In this regards, a press conference was held today (Monday) at conference room of Bangladesh tennis Federation (BTF) to give all the details of the meet.
BTF general secretary Abu Sayeed Mohammad Haider, its treasurer and Captain of Bangladesh team Khaled Ahmed, executive members Akhtaruzzaman Mukul and Sheikh Md Aslam and BTF councilor Trinath Das were present in the press conference.
