Bangladesh young legspinner Rishad Hossain doesn't want to lose his sleep by expecting too much about getting a team in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

He said excessive expectation may result in getting hurt if he is not picked up in the IPL auction, which will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arab. Rishad was the one amongst 12 Bangladeshi players, who were shortlisted for the mega auction.

"To be honest, everyone has a wish to play in the IPL and I am no exception. But I don't want to expect too much. I want to keep my expectation in a limited scale so that I don't have to get hurt," Rishad told the reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.

The 22-year-old shot into the limelight after taking 14 wickets in the T20 World Cup this year. His ability to hit big towards the end of the innings is his another quality that made him a good product for T20 format.

Rishad, however, named Kolkata Knight Riders as his favourite side in the IPL.

"Actually I don't want to think like this that I would have to play in this particular team. Suppose I have a desire to play for Chennai but I get picked by another team, then I may feel bad," he said.

"But my favourite team is Kolkata Knight Riders since Shakib bhai played in this franchise for a long time."

The young legspinner has already been acquired by Hobart Hurricanes from the draft to play in the Australian domestic T20 tournament Big Bash. But his immediate plan is to play well for the Rangpur Riders in the upcoming Global Super League (GSL) T20 in Caribbean Island. Although he is not at his best form at this moment.

"I always try to go with a normal plan and didn't think of any goal in advance," he said, adding that a good performance in the GSL may open a new horizon for him.

"I just want to continue with match by match. I will try to give my best wherever I play. In GSL, we'll face off some good teams in the world. My target is simple: to put my best and win the game for the team. A good performance is prelude to increase chance for me in various leagues around the world."
