After a rather slow start Pakistan team found itself in a difficult spot as they lost wickets at regular intervals at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. This is a must-win match for Pakistan as losing it will seal their chance for the semifinals.

However, the opening batsman failed to lead the team but Pakistan kept going with its fighting spirit. A steady half-century from the skipper Babar Azam paved the way for them. As of now Saud Shakeel and Shadab Khan are batting forming a partnership of 84 runs.
