Ad-Din was established in 1980 in Jashore, a southwestern district town of Bangladesh, with the inspiration of eminent industrialist and philanthropist late Sheikh Akij Uddin and the initiative of eminent philanthropist and renowned educationist late Professor Sharif Hossain. Dr. Sheikh Mohiuddin has been serving as the executive director of Ad-Din since the beginning.

Ad-Din's development journey began with the establishment of a small orphanage. Subsequently, its scope expanded to various branches. Ad-Din has now become a national organization with operations almost all over the country. Along with government efforts, this institution is playing a vital role in the health, education, employment and economic development of the backward people of the country.

Ad-Din encourages natural derivation
Ad-Din's hospital role in avoiding unnecessary seizures is well known. Ad-Din Medical College Hospital always strives and is sincere about normal childbirth. Ad-Din has always been at the forefront of painless natural delivery. All Ad-Din hospitals are committed to stopping unnecessary caesareans. The obstetrician is encouraged to have a normal delivery, even if there is a history of first-time cesarean.

In Ad-Din, such deliveries are happening almost every day. The first time is not possible without cesarean due to various reasons. But next time, there is no such complication. In such circumstances normal delivery is being followed in ad-din. Elsewise, there were no complications for mother and child. However, close monitoring of the patient is essential in this case. There is no risk of accidents. Ad-din is one-to-one, i.e. a midwife dedicated to a mother. But if any complications occur during normal delivery, there is not a moment's delay for cesarean.

Ad-Din's Moghbazar branch has a normal daily delivery of 40-50. Ad-Din is a referral hospital. Referred patients from different places come here. A critical patient cannot go to another hospital for various reasons. One of them is cost overrun. Because of this, patients come from other places to this hospital. In other places where caesarean section costs more than lakh taka, according to the package announced in the hospital, the first caesarean is taka 12,000. This includes OT, medicine and doctor consultancy.

But if a patient has high blood pressure, diabetes or other complex problems, the cost is extra. Here the patients do not have to pay any additional expenses in the ward. But many patients choose the cabin. For this, the cost has to be calculated. Seeing the tidy condition of the hospital, they became interested in the cabin. Relatives can also go there. But men are completely banned in the women's ward. Apart from this, sick newborns are kept in NICU. But if the child does not have any problems and the mother does not have any complications, it does not cost more than 12-15 thousand.

More than 3-4 hundred expectant mothers come to take antenatal care at the pregnant service center in Moghbazar branch of Ad-Din. The reason so many mothers come, they know, is that Ad-Din is sincere and diligent about normal delivery. We have regular telecommunications with them. Even we used to send SMS to them. Before the checkup date, contact is made before delivery. They are encouraged about hospital delivery through counselling. Home birth is discouraged.
